Completed Projects Profiting from use of Ground Source Energy
The Dunstan Innovation Centre developed by Chesterfield Borough Council as a low energy building was the largest ground source system. Providing 242 kW cooling and 130 kW heating with 87 ClimateMaster Console Heat Pumps, Horizontal Ceiling Void Units and Cosfi Water to Water Heat Pump serving Fan Coils.
Chesterfield Borough Council have also completed a Tourist Centre in the Town Centre using Ground Source Energy and have started on site with a further Office Block having 123 ClimateMaster Units.
Cotswold Water Park designed as a showcase to sustainability is served by 8 ClimateMaster Units connected to a 6 Pond Loop Heat Exchangers sunk to the bottom of the lake and plans have been completed for 18 further units in the Visitor Centre again relying upon energy from the lake.
Ikea Distribution Centre at Peterborough has now become the largest ground source installation providing 230 kW cooling and 198 kW heating from an E.T.T. CATT machine capable of providing heating and cooling at the same time with a 4-pipe system to airhandling units, again unit is upgrading Ground Source Energy.
A Cosfi CEH Packaged Indoor Unit was specified for Kilworth House Hotel connected to and upgrading water from nearby lake. The water is filtered prior to entering Heat Exchanger and Returns to lake via feature waterfall. System provides 129 kW cooling.
The National Forest Discovery Centre sits in midst of 120 acre Forest Park in Moira, Leicestershire and has a Borehole Ground Source System connected to a four stage Cosfi Heat Pump with hot and cold water tanks to provide heating and cooling simultaneously, 145 kW cooling, 169 kW heating. This Low Energy Building is built on the former colliery site.
